Eyes Have Not Seen: A Birthday Post

Here I am celebrating another year of life. Another Birthday in South Africa. Exactly 10 years ago today I was celebrating another milestone in my life…my Sweet Sixteen. Crazy how fast time goes. I still remember my Sweet Sixteen party. I remember my two outfits, the food, and all of the people that were in attendance. I remember my mindset as well. I had my entire life planned out (at least for the next 5 or 10 years). What I would study in college, where I would work, when I wanted to get married and have kids. Everything.

If only I knew how my life would actually be just ten years in the future. If only I knew where God would take me…

I would have ran in the opposite direction!

My life is nothing like I pictured it to be at this age. I just knew at this age I would have a solid career, my own home, either married or in a serious relationship, and of course living in America. But my life is nothing like that picture, it is so far from that picture. The most amazing thing is that I am so happy my life is not what I imagined it would be at this age. Not because I don’t want all of those thing anymore, I still do and believe I will have them and even more. But I am just so amazed and honored by what God has done in me and through me these last 10 years. I am so blown away by what He has done these last 2 years!!! My life is so much more than I could’ve ever imagined it would be at this point.

I may not know what I will be doing in the next 10 years of this journey or even in the next year of my life, but I am so glad I said YES to God’s will for my life and surrendered that vision to Him completely. His blessings are abundant and everlasting. I know God has even greater plans than this. He wants to take me places that I never imagined possible and do things through me and for me that have never been done before. This is only the beginning of His amazing plan. Watch this space!

But as it is written: “Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

Today is my Birthday and it has been a glorious day! Want to make it even better and be a blessing to some amazing children??? I have the perfect solution. I have a GoFundMe account in efforts to raise $1000 before December to give as a gift to the children of the Lebone Centre.

What would we use the money for? Well the children are always in need of something. One thing that I would like to use the money for is buying each child some warm pajamas! It gets soooo cold in Grahamstown during the winter (yes it gets cold in South Africa). But it is even colder in doors because most homes are built for the summer and not the winter. Many homes do not have heat or are properly insulated to keep warm air in and cold air out. Most of the children at the centre do not even live in a traditional home. Most of them live in tin shacks.
So with your help and donation I will be one step closer to meeting my goal of raising $1000 to purchase things like warm pajamas and blankets not just for the children but also their families. Help my Birthday be AMAZING by contributing any amount to this fund.
